Qingzhen boosts construction of rural infrastructure

Qingzhen -- a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has been undertaking a major rural infrastructure construction program in recent years, in order to help its people lead a better life. 

From 2017 to 2018, Qingzhen completed the construction of 559 kilometers of rural roads. In addition, another 262 new villages were added to the total number of villages with unimpeded access to roads, while all Qingzhen's villages with more than 30 households achieved access to hardened roads.

Furthermore, Qingzhen invested 46.25 million yuan ($6.78 million) on additional construction of the Lianhuashan waterworks and a supporting pipeline network in 2019 – to resolve water shortages at the towns of Xindian, Wangzhuang, Weicheng and Anliu. 

Meanwhile, the city spent 9.2 million yuan on a water supply project, improving the drinking water safety for 12,500 people. 

Qingzhen city also renovated and upgraded water cellars at a cost of 12.16 million yuan, which solved the problem of drinking water safety for 33,730 people. 

The water supply in the city has now reached the required drinking water safety standards.
