Qingzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Qingzhen city in Southwest China's Guizhou province recently undertook a series of measures to improve the testing of drinking water quality in local rural areas, according to local officials.
The center tasked each township health center in Qingzhen to equip a member of staff to perform water quality sampling work with local water conservation station staff members.
Meanwhile, the center has provided training on safety testing of rural drinking water quality for staff members of township health centers and water conservation stations and inspected the water quality of 534 centralized drinking water projects.
Moreover, the center has deployed six key personnel and kept the testing equipment running 24 hours day.
As a result, a total of 347 water quality samples have so far been tested, accounting for 65 percent of the total samples.
