The Guizhou-Lancang-Mekong Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference took place at Guiyang Free Trade Zone on March 20. The event aimed to establish a regular platform for economic and trade cooperation between Guizhou and Lancang-Mekong countries, thereby promoting high-level opening-up and high-quality development.

The conference brought together international participants, including China-based business representatives from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand; officials from Guizhou foreign affairs and commerce departments; representatives from Guiyang Free Trade Zone, Gui'an Free Trade Zone, and Zunyi Free Trade Zone; and over 200 representatives from central government-owned enterprises, State-owned enterprises, and private companies in Guizhou.

The event featured two main sessions: economic and trade exchanges, and practical training on foreign-related affairs. During the economic and trade exchange session, the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province and Guiyang Free Trade Zone delivered speeches and presentations, offering attendees a comprehensive overview of Guizhou's strengths in opening-up, its distinctive industrial layout, as well as the policy advantages, channel benefits, and investment opportunities within Guiyang Free Trade Zone.

China-based business representatives from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand also took the stage to introduce their countries' investment environments, core industrial policies, key cooperation projects, and import and export demands.

The practical training on foreign-related affairs featured experts from provincial foreign affairs, commerce, and national security departments. They delivered training on topics such as international protocols, overseas risk prevention, and consular protection, providing professional and practical guidance to support Guizhou enterprises in their efforts to expand globally.

This year, Guiyang Free Trade Zone will organize a series of quarterly economic and trade cooperation exchanges, focusing on regions such as the Lancang-Mekong, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Key priorities will include cross-border logistics connectivity, comprehensive use of new energy, imports of fresh fruits, exports of used cars, and bonded display and sales. These efforts aim to further streamline Guizhou's international economic and trade channels, build more international cooperation platforms for local enterprises, expand collaborative opportunities, and inject new momentum into mutually beneficial, win-win development.
