Weicheng Middle School has developed science and innovation education alongside cheerleading as its core strengths under the "Education-focused City" strategy in Qingzhen, a county-level city in Guiyang.
The school offers 11 after-school science and innovation courses, including water rocket assembly and Python programming, and has established dedicated student clubs. Its science and innovation lab is fully equipped with tools such as 3D printers and coding robots. To strengthen faculty expertise, the school regularly organizes professional training for teachers.
Since the establishment of its first club in 2019, Weicheng Middle School's science and innovation education has made remarkable progress, garnering a total of 253 awards in competitions, including nine first prizes in national contests, with 561 individual winners.
Cheerleading has also become an integral part of the school culture, serving as a combination of "sports and aesthetic education" and fostering moral development among students. The school has incorporated cheerleading into its physical education curriculum, developed teaching materials, and established both school-level teams and class-based groups. From school performances to competition stages, it is not only strengthening physical fitness but also cultivating character.
In addition, the school integrates moral education activities into its classes and has established 14 different interest clubs, including gardening and cuju, to create a multifaceted education system.
