CCID Consulting Co, a subsidiary of the China Center for Information Industry Development, recently released the 2025 high-quality economic development evaluation results of counties and urban districts in central and western China.
Qingzhen city and Kaiyang county have been listed in the 2025 Top 100 Counties in western China, while five districts of Guiyang made the 2025 list of the Top 100 Districts in western China.
The evaluation is based on the 2024 Codes for the Administrative Divisions of the People's Republic of China at or above the county level issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in April 2025. The research covers municipal districts and county-level administrative regions of prefecture-level cities in central and western China.
The research includes 237 municipal districts from 11 provinces, and autonomous regions. To align with the evaluation framework of the 2025 Research Report on the High-Quality Development of China's Urban Economy, municipalities directly under the Central Government and state-level new areas are excluded from the scope.
The research covered 831 county-level administrative regions from 12 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, excluding municipal districts and special administrative zones. These consist of 116 county-level cities, 583 counties, 80 autonomous counties, 49 banners and, three autonomous banners.
