Due to the surge in popularity of electric bikes in recent years, Qingzhen city in Guiyang has prioritized the installation of charging ports to address the shortage of charging facilities in many older residential areas.
"In the past, tangled wires in the stairwells were a constant worry. Now, with proper charging ports, it's both convenient and safe!" said Liu Dayong, a resident of Qilong Xintiandi community, expressing satisfaction with the newly installed electric bike charging facilities.

By utilizing idle spaces and underground resources, the city has tailored solutions to each community's needs. Qilong Xintiandi led the way with 35 new charging ports, equipped with sun and rain shelters, surveillance, and fire safety facilities, meeting charging demand among residents while enhancing safety. To date, 113 charging ports have been added citywide, ensuring safer and greener travel options.
He Gang, head of the property section at Qingzhen's housing and urban-rural development bureau, stated that future adjustments to charging facilities will be based on resident feedback. Additionally, efforts will be made to educate the public through community talks and case studies to promote safe parking and charging practices, reducing potential hazards at the source.
