At Guizhou Zhongxin Microelectronics Technology Co in Qingzhen Economic Development Zone, fully automated production lines are operating at high speed, manufacturing chips that support a wide range of applications, from smartwatches to industrial tools.
With an output of 3.3 billion chips in the first half of this year and a production value of nearly 200 million yuan ($27.4 million), the company has already experienced year-over-year growth of over 30 percent.
The company has added two new automated production lines with investment exceeding 160 million yuan, increasing its automation rate to 97 percent and product yield to 99.8 percent. By shifting its focus to memory chips to meet growing global data storage demands, Zhongxin Microelectronics now supplies self-developed chips to five listed companies in China, which in turn provide components for leading brands such as Huawei, DJI, and Dyson.
Over the next three years, Zhongxin Microelectronics aims to double its production capacity, targeting an annual output of 7 billion chips, with a focus on high-end applications, including memory electronics and industrial control. The company has also created over 800 local jobs and established partnerships with vocational institutes to enhance talent development.
Supported by the Qingzhen municipal government's equity investment and responsive public services, Zhongxin Microelectronics' growth underscores how collaborative government-business efforts are contributing to the development of a robust big data industry ecosystem in the city.
