Weicheng town launches rural accommodation project

The "Baiyi Shangshui" rural accommodation project in Weicheng town, Qingzhen city, was launched on June 20, with the first batch of approximately 100 guest rooms in Shangshui village opening their doors to welcome guests with fresh looks and top-notch service.

Shangshui village has seized opportunities in the thriving rural accommodation market in recent years, developing a model that combines "village collective + group collective + enterprise + farmers". Guided by the village collective and group collective, farmers are mobilized to integrate their idle houses, land, and other resources, which are then handed over to enterprises for centralized promotion and operation under unified service standards.

The Changtian group in Shangshui village has completed 15 high-quality guest rooms for homestays and over 80 cost-effective residential guest rooms, which are then managed and operated by Shanyang Shiguang (Hainan) Health Industry Co. The company plans to attract guests through live streaming and partnerships with third-party entities, such as travel agencies.

To ensure a quality rural accommodation experience, Shangshui village has also established the "Rural Maker School", organizing villagers to participate in skill training programs such as "Accommodation Steward" and "Garden Caretaker", transforming the entire village into a cultural tourism service provider.

"The Shangshui project carries the hopes of the entire village," said Ren Hong, director of the Shangshui village committee. "Moving forward, we will continue to explore the 'accommodation+' model, broaden income channels, and ensure that the project's benefits extensively and sustainably reach every villager."
