Qingzhen's Shangshui village: a thriving rural community

In recent years, Shangshui village in Qingzhen has been enhancing its environment by focusing on tourism empowerment and coordinated multi-faceted governance. The village is dedicated to creating a vibrant and sustainable rural community.

Through continuous efforts, the village has cleared 12 illegal structures, renovated seven animal pens, built seven new public bathrooms, and repaired or demolished eight dilapidated walls. To facilitate waste management, the village has set up three garbage collection points and equipped over 50 garbage bins, ensuring daily waste collection and disposal.

The village has completed centralized sewage treatment facilities and achieved full coverage for the resourceful use of domestic wastewater. These once-polluted water bodies have been transformed into clear streams, with green plants adorning the banks, creating a pleasant leisure spot.

The village, following "Shangshui Forest Wellness", "Mountain Forest Wellness Belt", and cultural experiences, has developed the "Baiyi Shangshui – Goumei Zhichuang" tourism project, which is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors annually, increasing villagers' per capita income by more than 2,000 yuan ($277).

The village has also built scenic walkways, cultural squares, and other facilities, creating a picturesque rural landscape. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful countryside, experience farming culture, savor local delicacies, and relish the tranquility and beauty of rural life.

Shangshui aims to transform into a lasting and comprehensive beautiful living environment, enhancing the vibrancy and quality of rural vitalization.
