Qingzhen, a county-level city in Guiyang, has been developing and enhancing its aluminum processing industries following an "industrial chain – industrial cluster – industrial ecosystem" trajectory.
As a key region for bauxite resources in Guiyang, Qingzhen boasts the largest contiguous mining area in the country and the highest bauxite reserves in Guizhou province.

The Wangzhuang Aluminum Deep Processing Industrial Park is the highlight of Qingzhen's aluminum industry development. It has become Guizhou's largest aluminum industrial base, with an alumina production capacity of 2.4 million metric tons and an electrolytic aluminum capacity of 500,000 tons, accounting for approximately 45 percent and 29 percent of the province's total, respectively.
Qingzhen has also attracted many high-quality aluminum deep processing enterprises such as Qianbiao Aluminum, Jingfan Technology, and Longshu Light Alloy. The city has nurtured local leading companies like Guilyu New Materials, shifting from selling raw materials like bauxite and aluminum ingots to producing high-value products such as battery aluminum foil and high-end automotive lightweight industrial profiles.
In 2024, the aluminum processing industry in Qingzhen achieved an industrial output value exceeding 26.5 billion yuan ($3.66 billion), accounting for about 75 percent of Guiyang's total industry output. This industry's dominant position in Qingzhen is becoming increasingly prominent, with 49 enterprises above the designated size, including Guizhou Huajin and Guizhou Huaren, now concentrated in the area.
