The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning and Guizhou Non-ferrous Geology Engineering Investigation Co formed an investigation team, and conducted field research in Qingzhen city of Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 17.

The team visited the Wangjiashan bauxite mine and Yandong avasite mine, both of which are no longer in use now.

The team members urged the local government to sow grass seeds in the restored area of the Wangjiashan bauxite mine after it cleans up the mine slag and crushed stones. The team also determined that it was necessary to invite geological experts to assess the depth of the Yandong avasite mine. Once this is done, the local government can effectively carry out subsequent mine management and handover work.

All the unfinished abandoned mine renovation work for 2023 was to be completed this month. Local government staff members were told to strictly enforce safety operating procedures while striving to reach this goal.
