Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has rolled out multiple measures to ensure the safety of people inside elevators.

Relevant officials were urged to register elevators into the emergency rescue platform, so that the process of contacting the police and offering specific location information are all under surveillance and rescue teams can reach trapped individuals in elevators as soon as possible. A total of 2,970 elevators have been connected to the elevator emergency rescue service platform so far.

Standardized rescue signs for trapped people in elevators have been posted to ensure that people in need can promptly seek help by calling the sign's number, improving the accuracy of emergency rescues.

A total of 94 elevator maintenance and repair units have been contracted so far, 157 unsafe elevators have been rectified, and 398 trapped individuals have been rescued. On average, rescue teams take just 10.9 minutes to reach problematic elevators.
