Data from the Guizhou Department of Commerce showed that since 2015, the province has been approved to construct 89 rural e-commerce demonstration county programs at the State level. Over the first half of 2022, Guizhou registered 25.9 billion yuan ($3.71 billion) in online retail sales, up 80.59 percent year-on-year.

The rapid development of e-commerce can also be seen in Qingzhen, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

"In 2019, we cooperated with Weicheng town in Qingzhen and established an e-commerce service store in every village in the town. It offers services related to supermarkets, online shopping, agricultural product sales, power and water utility bills and finance. The store serves both buyers and sellers. In this way, we have discovered a number of sound agricultural product brands," said Huang Jie, general manager of Guizhou Jieshibang E-commerce Co.

In 2020, Huang opened nine e-commerce service stations in nine towns and e-commerce service stores in 131 villages. A "comprehensive supermarket + e-commerce + life service + logistics" development model has taken shape, helping more agricultural products find sales channels.
