The Qingzhen government in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been reacting quickly to the worsening drought. Officials provided pumping equipment to farmers to ensure agricultural output.

With the assistance of agricultural technicians and water diversion equipment, rice fields were irrigated in a timely manner.

Similarly, in the Guimiaofu Peach Growing Base – Qingzhen's largest organic fruit growing base, 120 hectares of yellow peaches were watered. These peaches were reportedly at a critical period of growth, and pests and diseases resulting from the drought had been a problem.

Li Anhua, manager of the base, said that the timely irrigation has not only saved the peach trees, but also improved the quality of the peach.
