Over the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, saw strong results in social and economic development, successfully building a moderately prosperous society, expanding its industrial scale, renewing its rural and urban image, enhancing its lake city charm, unleashing its innovative potential, and accelerating its welfare programs.
A number of outstanding aluminum processing enterprises have been brought to Qingzhen, which is now home to 122 manufacturers above a designated size. The city's total industrial output stood at 37.5 billion yuan ($5.72 billion), double the figure in 2016. The urban area is 1.5 times larger than in 2016, and its urbanization rate is 7 percentage points higher than in 2016.
The city also maintained a relatively high economic growth rate of 9.7 percent annually.
