The Qingzhen economic development zone – located in Qingzhen city, administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is these days understood to be going from strength to strength and moves are under way to continue the momentum.
Over the past year, the zone is said to have attracted a group of major enterprises to start up businesses there – and it is currently home to 65 industrial firms that generated total annual output worth 20.16 billion yuan ($3.17 billion).
The zone – which was dominated by the aluminum and aluminum processing sectors – has been listed as a green industry demonstration base by the National Development and Reform Commission and is nowadays increasingly characterized by the new construction materials sector.
It reportedly plans to launch eight standard workshop projects, two of which have begun construction. In addition, efforts have been made to ensure the power supply, especially for aluminum-based enterprises.
Moving forward, nearly 60 million yuan is expected to be invested in support facilities, such as mountain parks and comprehensive service centers, to meet the needs of workers in the zone.
In order to accelerate its eco-friendly transformation, plans are for the zone to promote convergence of green industries. It is understood that relevant innovation systems and incentive policies will also be drafted soon.
By 2025, the zone is expected to have cultivated more than three major companies in the green industry.
