New lithium battery support plant signed up in Qingzhen

An aluminum shell and cover (for lithium batteries) project was signed by Qingzhen government and Anhui Lixiang Battery Technology Co on Jan 27.

The company is a lithium battery spare parts maker and a supplier to China's major lithium battery manufacturers including CATL and Gotion High-tech.

The development is a support project for CATL's power cell project in Qingzhen and involves 1 billion yuan ($157 million) in investment.

It will build 16 aluminum shell production lines and 25 aluminum cover production lines, with estimated annual output worth over 2 billion yuan, which will generate more than 70 million yuan in revenue per year and offer over 400 jobs to locals.
