Farmers at the yellow chives growing base in Anliu town in the city of Qingzhen have recently been harvesting yellow chives. Theses mature yellow chives will then be transported to markets in Zhejiang and Shanghai in East China.

"This is our first harvest since the base opened in 2020," said Pan Kelei, general manager of Guizhou Liangshan Minrun Agriculture Development Co. The market price per mu (666.67 square meters) for yellow chives currently ranges from 18,000 ($2,700) to 20,000 yuan.

Since the opening of the growing base, the "firm + village + farmer" model has been adhered to. By transferring lands and hiring farmers to work at the base, the company has enabled more than 70 rural residents to find employment near their homes.
