Qingzhen county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken various measures in recent years, in order to cultivate the new-type agricultural entities, the number of which has now reached 3,527, according to local media reports.

In a bid to help farmers thrive and to inject new energy into rural and agricultural development, the Qingzhen government has made efforts to foster new-type agricultural business entities such as professional agricultural cooperatives, leading agricultural enterprises, and family farms by formulating conducive policies, conferring technological support, and enhancing local agricultural brands.

From 2020-21, the government collected program applications from 39 firms, which include establishing cold storages, offering social services for agricultural production, and purchasing agricultural machinery. Total investment in these programs exceeds 14 million yuan ($2.1 million),  and the government has issued special funds of over 7.2 million yuan to support the programs.

The business environment in Qingzhen is being continually improved. By placing orders for agricultural products and pricing products according to the cooperation agreement, agricultural business entities are able to share interests and risk with farmers.

Based on the development of special local industries and demand for agricultural products, the government is working with leading new-type agricultural business entities every year to establish agricultural technology demonstration bases, the number of which is expected to reach 60.

Meanwhile, leading figures in local new-type agricultural business entities are selected annually to be instructed on agricultural techniques face-to-face by more than 200 agricultural experts and technicians sent by the government.
