An educational campaign, or "Sanxiaxiang", kicked off in Guiyang's Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province on May 22, with officials from the municipal and provincial governments invited to attend the event.
"Sanxiaxiang" refers to a campaign in which experts, scholars and medical workers go to the countryside to spread scientific and cultural knowledge and offer medical services to farmers.
Wang Mingming, mayor of Qingzhen county, addressed the campaign launch, and related it to the poverty alleviation efforts in rural areas. He referred to the "Sanxiaxiang" campaign as an important platform to solve the problems that people care about the most, and as an effective tool with which to promote the high-quality development of villages, towns and cities.
Wang also highlighted the key role of the campaign, at the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), in terms of spreading scientific, cultural and medical knowledge across rural areas.
