People from the Miao ethnic group living in Qingzhen city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, converged in Tangbian village, Hongfenghu town to celebrate their unique "Yalu Festival" – as well as the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding – on May 19.

Yalu Festival is a traditional celebration for the Miao people, which lies on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. Yalu, according to myths passed down through Miao culture, is an ancient legendary king who fought for Miao people and died for the cause.

Every year at this time, Miao people dress in their characteristic clothing, decorated by all kinds of silver accessories. They dance, sing, play on swings and play their traditional musical instruments to show their respect for the King Yalu.

In addition to the conventional activities listed above, the festival this year was also joined by volunteers in blue vests, who promoted the study of the Party's history and the awareness of environmental protection.

Hongfenghu town has also built a batch of ethnic villages that fuse accommodation, sightseeing and other ethnic cultural experiences. These special villages have helped restore glory to the local ethnic culture.
