Qingzhen -- a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- completed the relocation of 1,966 people living in 482 poverty-stricken households in inhospitable areas in 2017 and 2018, according to local officials.

They said the city promoted basic public services, training and employment services, cultural services and community governance in the relocation sites to provide better living services for these people.

Meanwhile, the city has expanded a renovation program of dilapidated rural houses and old houses with poor ventilation and leaking roofs.

In 2019, the city completed a safety assessment of 3,760 local houses, as well as the reconstruction of 111 dilapidated rural houses and 388 old houses with poor ventilation and rain leaks.
